We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to talk about a REAL LIFE Star Trek phone (especially with the launch of the fabled R2-D2 Droid phone on the 30th). Our friends over at Engadget were tipped off to a real life Nokia Star Trek phone that was designed as a prototype tie in with the movie.
It’s called the “Starfleet Communicator” and there were apparently 14 made in the entire world and was made to replicate the iconic communicators used in the movies (and the newest Star Trek XI). It’s essentially a Nokia N76 with an LCD on the front and a whole lot of flashing lights all underneath the old school Gold-ish Grill! Apparently they’re real working phones full of Star Trek noises and all!! Check out the video to see it in action!!
