We just received word that Rogers has started a new service for it’s High Speed Internet customers, called Speed Boost.
It’s a free service for all Rogers Customers that essentially helps Rogers use all it’s extra bandwith when it’s available. Customers who subscribe to any speed on Rogers Internet service can benefit from a temporary Speed Boost that will up their speed by up to 10 mbps, for the first 10 mega bytes of any downloads, or movie streaming or gaming online. They claim that this will automatically happen when there is extra bandwith available and will greatly improve the customers experience.
We have yet to see it in action but must admit its a really cool idea and definitely gives them something over Bell’s internet service. I wonder how often there is extra bandwith available?
