So our Rogers sources have tipped us off telling that within the next month Rogers should be getting the Samsung Nexus S (otherwise known as the Google phone 2) the wildly popular successor to the Nexus S.
The really interesting tidbit of information we received from them is that Rogers will be selling it as a “Google” phone, meaning unlocked and without all the bloat ware that usually gets loaded on the phones!!
In case you forgot, the Nexus S is a 4inch super AMOLED bad boy with a 1ghz processor, 16gb internal storage, 5mp camera with flash, and is currently running Android 2.3 Googles latest software. This would mark the first phone in Canada to officially have 2.3 which could be a big selling point for a lot of people…
The only problem with that is with rumor’s of the Galaxy S 2 coming out in Europe as soon as this month, we’ve actually already received word Rogers is lining it up for a Q2 launch… Possibly meaning that it would join in as the first couple North American carriers to carry it which would be huge news.
Still, only rumors for now but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we find out more! And stay tuned for our review of the Nexus S once we get our hands on one!
